According to the Kunming Bureau of China Railway, the entire Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway is expected to meet the conditions for opening around December 2026. By then, the driving time from Chongqing to Kunming will be shortened from the current 5 hours to a fastest of about 2 hours, and the travel time from Kunming to Chengdu is expected to be controlled within 3 hours. The travel conditions of people along the line will be greatly improved.
